September Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its September meeting on Thursday, September 3rd at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street, Eugene. This month's meeting will focus on how to enter a dahlia bloom into a dahlia show. We will discuss how to improve bloom quality on your plants, how to safely transport blooms to the show, and demonstrate how to stage a 1-bloom and 3-bloom entry. Experts will also be on hand to answer any questions related to entering baskets or arrangements as well. We also encourage all members to bring some dahlia blooms for our "show-and-tell". The meeting is free and open to the public. Free refreshments and door prizes will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

Judging School

The Lane County Dahlia Society will host a Judging School this month. The School is open to all, whether you have an interest in becoming a dahlia judge or if you are simply curious to learn how dahlias are judged at an ADS dahlia show. This class is both a refresher course for the seasoned dahlia veteran and a great introductory class for the novice grower. Everyone is welcome!

August Meeting

The August meeting of the County Dahlia Society will be held Thursday, August 6th at 7:30 PM, at the Celeste Campbell Center. Our program this month will be centered around the topic of how to use dahlias in a floral design. Our presenters, Monica Henry and Sherry Cossey, are both members of the LCDS and the Eugene Garden Club. These talented ladies will show how to create beautiful floral designs using dahlias, other cut flowers, and foliage from the garden. Audience members will be invited to participate. There will be door prizes and free refreshments available. We also encourage all members and guests to bring in dahlia blooms for our "show-and-tell". The meeting is free and open to the public. We hope that you will join us!

July Meeting

The July meeting of the Lane County Dahlia Society will be held Thursday, July 2nd at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center. Our presentation is titled "July in the Dahlia Garden" and will be presented by Wayne and Eleanor Shantz. Bring any dahlia related questions that you might have and also bring some blooms if you kept your dahlias in the ground over the Winter. There will be door prizes and free refreshments available. The meeting is free and open to the public. We hope that you will join us!

June Meeting

The June meeting of the Lane County Dahlia Society will be held Thursday, June 4th at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center. Our presentation this month will be "The Secret of Growing Dahlias" by Brian Fullerton. Sonia Hall will also talk about taking care of your dahlia plants as they grow. Bring your questions! We will also have a last chance tuber sale. It will start at 7:00 PM and continue on during the refreshment break. All tubers will be just $1. There will be door prizes and free refreshments available. The meeting is free and open to the public. We hope that you will join us!

Key Bank Tuber Sale

This Saturday, May 16th, will be the last tuber sale of the year held by the Lane County Dahlia Society. The sale will take place from 10 AM until 4 PM and will be located at the Key Bank on River Road. The address is 1960 River Road. Key Bank is located right in front of the Bi-Mart, just south of the Beltline Expressway. Please come early for the best selection. With the sun shinning and the outside temperature warm, now is the time to plant. All tubers will be $3.50 each or 5/$15. We hope to you there!

May Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its May meeting Thursday, May 7th at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street, Eugene. At this month's meeting a pair of experienced dahlia growers will be on hand to discuss preparation methods for planting a dahlia garden. They will offer advice on when, where, and how to plant your dahlia tubers and will gladly answer any questions. We will also have a HUGE selection of dahlia tubers for sale at the meeting. All tubers will sell for $3.50 each. There will be door prizes and free refreshments available.The meetings are free and open to the public. We hope that you will join us!
