The Lane County Dahlia Society's 47th Annual Show

The Lane County Dahlia Society invites you to attend our 47th Annual Dahlia Show at the Wheeler Pavilion, at the Lane County Fairgrounds. The show will be held Saturday, September 18th from 1-6 PM and Sunday, September 19th from 10 AM - 4 PM. This year's theme is "Pacific Wonderland of Dahlias" and our flower of the year is Hannah Baker. Admission is free. Please come and celebrate the beauty of dahlias!

September Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its September meeting Thursday, September 2nd at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street, Eugene. At this month's meeting Wayne Shantz will demonstrate how how makes compost tea and explain the benefits of applying tea to his dahlias. We will also have an informal dahlia "show-and-tell" as members bring in blooms to share. The meeting is free and open to the public.

August Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its August meeting Thursday, August 5th at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street, Eugene. This month's meeting will focus on how to enter a bloom in a dahlia show and how to exhibit at the Fair. We will discuss how to improve bloom quality on your plants, how to transport blooms safely to a show, and demonstrate how to stage a 1-bloom and 3-bloom exhibit. We will also have an informal dahlia "show-and-tell" as members bring in blooms to share. The meeting is free and open to the public.

July Potluck

Instead of our regular meeting with program, the Lane County Dahlia Society hosted a Members Only Potluck in July. The day dawned grey and cloudy and as we ate a few showers traveled through the area. We set up inside the Campbell Center, instead of outside, but otherwise the evening went off without a hitch. Over 30 members came to enjoy an amazing 3 tables worth of main dishes, salads and desserts. The room was filled with laughter and friendship. Thanks to everyone who came and brought a dish to share. It was a really nice evening.

June Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its June meeting Thursday, June 3rd. at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street Eugene. This month's program will feature veteran growers Art Redfern and Wayne Shantz. Together they will share successful dahlia growing techniques and answer audience questions about dahlia cultivation. A "last chance" tuber sale is also planned. The meeting is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

Last Tuber Sale - Saturday May 15th

This Saturday, May 15th, will be the last tuber sale for the year held by the Lane County Dahlia Society. The sale will take place from 9 AM until 1 PM and will be located at the Key Bank on River Road. The address is 1960 River Road. Key Bank is located right in front of the Bi-Mart, just south of the Beltline Expressway. Please come early for the best selection. With the sun shinning and the outside temperature finally rising, now is the time to plant. We hope to you you there!

May Meeting

The Lane County Dahlia Society will hold its May meeting, Thursday May 6th at 7:30 PM at the Celeste Campbell Center, 155 High Street Eugene. This month's program will feature a panel of experienced dahlia growers, each discussing their individual method of planting dahlia tubers. They will offer advice on when, where, and how to plant your dahlias and get them off to a healthy start. There will be plenty of time to answer questions from the audience. The meeting is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
